Our Story
Mi Casita Longview was born in 2008 when Eric Dean opened a small taco shop with just three tables and a big dream. What started as a tiny neighborhood spot quickly grew into a beloved local restaurant known for scratch-made food and an atmosphere filled with heart.
In 2023, Eric passed unexpectedly at only 47 years old. His sister, Liz Couch, knew how much Mi Casita meant ~not just to Eric, but to their family and the community. Determined to keep his legacy alive and the restaurant in the family, Liz and her husband Randy, invested in Mi Casita and now proudly carry it forward with the same spirit, recipes, and love that Eric built it on. Many of the original staff who opened the doors alongside Eric are still here today, a testament to the loyalty, family, and heart at the core of Mi Casita.
At Mi Casita, everything is made the old-fashioned way from scratch. Nearly everything on the menu is crafted in-house: sausage, chorizo, carne guisada, barbacoa, beef, chicken, birria, carnitas, and picadillo. The team simmers beans daily, cooks rice from a signature recipe, and prepares salsas fresh daily - from smoky chipotle to fiery pineapple habanero.
Guests come from all over for Mi Casita’s famous breakfast tacos, massive breakfast burritos and the legendary Chuck Norris Burrito. The restaurant is also known for its iconic French toast with house-made syrup, celebrated fish and shrimp tacos, and indulgent Macho Fries (OH YEAH BROTHER!) - all dishes that have become local favorites.
These recipes aren’t just food - they’re family traditions and community staples.
